A 52-year-old motorcyclist was killed overnight after losing control of his Harley and crashing off the roadway in Calvert County. North Beach resident Richard Evan Ganyon, Jr. has been identified by the sheriff's office as the person whose body was found following a crash in Owings. Deputies from the Calvert County Sheriff's Office were called shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Monday night to the 3700 block of Chaneyville Road in Owings to investigate a motorcycle crash. A death investigation has been launched after a 19-year-old woman was killed in a fatal crash in St. Mary's County that left her friends and family reeling. Cobb Island resident Autumn Leighanne Compton has been identified as the victim who was killed in a crash in Mechanicsville over the weekend after striking a truck being driven by 24-year-old North Beach native Zachary Joseph WIlburn, according to the sheriff's office. “Driver error” has been determined as the cause of a crash that left a man operating a personal mobility scooter with what are being described as serious injuries in Calvert County. One victim was airlifted to a Maryland hospital with reported life-threatening injuries, and a second was treated at a children’s hospital after being struck by a motorcycle in Maryland, authorities announced.
