Larry Jerome Eastman, 23, of Temple Hills, and his sister, DC resident Justice Michelle Eastman, 26, have been sentenced after admitting to selling fake prescription pills that led to the fatal overdose of a 20-year-old woman in 2021 who had a history of drug problems. Middle School Student May Have OD'd, Charles County Sheriff Says
A possible overdose at a Charles County middle school is under investigation. Shortly before dismissal on Thursday, April 27, a School Resource Officer from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office assigned to General Smallwood Middle School were advised that a student ingested a possible marijuana gummy. Officials say that the edible, which was given to him by a different student, contained suspected THC. A Louisiana doctor who used to practice in DC and Falls Church, Virginia, will spend more than a year in jail for illegally distributing oxycodone and hydrocodone to a Fairfax County man who later died of an overdose. A Maryland student and school resource officer were both hospitalized during an investigation into a possible drug overdose, the Charles County Sheriff's Office announced. Authorities say that a school resource officer at the Robert D. Stethem Educational Center was assisting staff with a student having a medical emergency as a result of a possible overdose, at which point he fell ill. Trio Believed Dead Of Overdose Outside Maryland Apartment Building: Police
Three men died in what Hyattsville police say was a drug overdose this week. EMS personnel responding to a 911 call placed by residents on the 5700 block of Queens Chapel Road found the men unconscious and not breathing around 11 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, local police said. Medics administered Narcan and performed CPR but were unable to revive the men. There was no visible evidence of trauma to their bodies. Investigation Launched After Alleged OD Victim Restrained By Police Dies
An investigation into a questionable death of a man who was suffering an alleged overdose while police handcuffed him has begun, authorities say. Police responded to a call in the 2400 block of Sherwood Avenue around 11:17 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 4 where they found an unidentified man being restrained by a bystander in the roadway, according to the office of the Maryland Attorney General.
