It's Getting Hot In Here: Dog Abandoned In Maryland With No Water, Shelter During Heat Wave: PD A woman who intentionally left a dog high and dry - literally - to fend for itself on the side of the road during the recent heatwave in Maryland will face charges for abandoning the pup in Hagerstown, police said. Members of the Hagerstown Police Department received a report of a woman who stopped her car, removed a kennel with a dog inside, and left it on the sidewalk along the 200 block of West Irvin Avenue.
