Police say that a man has been brought back to Washington, DC following the fatal shooting of a 57-year-old Maryland man last fall.
In December last year, US Marshals arrested 21-year-old Jamari Payne, who has no fixed address, in Pennsylvania in connection to the murder of Silver Spring resident Bacilio Villatoro, authorities announced.
On Tuesday, Aug. 15, the Metropolitan Police Department announced that he had been extradited back to DC, where he was charged with second-degree murder while armed.

Members of the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a violent night that saw at least three people shot, one of whom was killed, officials say.
The busy evening for first responders began shortly before 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, when there was a reported shooting in the 2700 block of Bruce Place in Southeast, DC.

D.C. police have identified the suspect they are looking for in connection to a 2021 fatal shooting, officials said.On August 23, 2021, at around 2:30 a.m., Ali Al-Mahdi was found in the 1800 Block of 9th Street suffering from gunshot wounds, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Al-Mahdi was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities reported.

A woman and her husband were both found dead inside their Culpeper home, police reported.
Stacey Garrison, 40, and Daniel Garrison, 41, were found by police inside of a home on the 15000 block of Burgandine Avenue around 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, according to the Culpeper Police Department. Police said the duo had apparent gunshot wounds and law enforcement is not looking for any persons of interest.

Latest Victim Of Fatal Temple Hills Shooting Identified
Police have released the name of a victim who has died after being shot earlier this month in Temple Hills, authorities say.
Anton Meachum, 29, succumbed to his injuries on Monday, Aug. 29 after being shot in the 2600 block of Colebrook Drive on Sunday, Aug. 14, according to Prince George's County police.
Police found Meachum suffering from gunshot wounds outside around 3 a.m., after reports of a shooting in the area, they said.
Meachum was rushed to an area hospital, where, despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead weeks later.
