A JC Penney location at a Maryland mall had to be evacuated on Wednesday morning when a man barricaded himself inside the store, police say. Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police were called around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday to the mall in an attempt to peacefully resolve the standoff, and the store was evacuated as a precaution to allow them to manage the incident. Montgomery County Police are offering a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone with information regarding a recent assault in Silver Spring. Police responded for an assault that just occurred at the Wheaton Mall around 8 p.m. on Friday, April 15, police said. Initial investigation showed the female victim was inside the mall when two other women approached her and pushed her to the ground.
