Members of the Laurel Police Department were called to the area of Main Street and Lafayette Avenue at around 1 p.m. on April 26 to investigate reports of a person who had been struck. Officials say a woman was hospitalized after getting rescued when she found herself in a precarious position during rush hour. Person Suffers Serious Injuries After Being Found Underneath Train At Wheaton Metro Station
A victim suffered serious injuries after being found underneath a train on the tracks at the Wheaton Metro Station, authorities say. The adult victim was reported underneath the train around 11:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 4, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue. The patient was able to be extracted from the tracks and rushed to a hospital with reportedly serious injuries. Details surrounding the patient's current condition and extent of the injuries, or what led to the incident were not immediately available.

Fatal Pedestrian Crash Stops Amtrak Trains Along East Coast
Amtrak trains along the East Coast were at a standstill due to a fatal pedestrian strike north of Washington DC and a junkyard fire in Philadelphia on Tuesday, Sept. 27.
