Sheriff Investigating Fatal One-Car Crash In Maryland Police have released the name of a 52-year-old man who was killed in a one-vehicle crash in Charles County over the holiday weekend. Nanjemoy resident John Walter Knott was killed in the crash shortly before 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, July 2 near the intersection of Poorhouse Road and Glasgow Lane in Port Tobacco, officials said on Tuesday, July 5. Upon arrival at the scene, Diane Richardson of the Charles County Sheriff's Media Relations Office said that deputies located Knott after he crashed into multiple trees.
