A District man who couldn't last a week after his ex-girlfriend gave him a second chance is facing prison time after violently attempting to control her.
Barrington Hart, 36, was convicted on a host of charges in DC after he was in a romantic relationship with a woman, broke up, then reunited for four days, during which he terrorized her last summer, according to authorities.
Prosecutors say that Hart and the woman got into an argument on July 27, 2023, when he accused her of cheating on him and demanded to look through her phone, which she refused.

Maryland Man Sentenced For Kidnapping, Threatening To Kill PA Woman
A 32-year-old Maryland man was sentenced to seven to 14 years in prison for violently kidnapping and threatening to kill a Pennsylvania woman two years ago, authorities announced.
The 28-year-old Coatesville victim claims that the day of March 7, 2020, was like any other until her friend of 12 years, Adam Hathaway, of Baltimore, went to the house she shared with her 7-year-old daughter, Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan said.
When she asked him to leave, he assaulted and strangled her, even throwing her into a glass mirror, all while her young daughter slept upstairs, the DA said.
