Maryland Gunman Nabbed For Killing Rapper In Comfort Of His Own Home: Police

A 31-year-old accused gunman has been arrested for shooting a 25-year-old rapper last December in the comfort of his own home, authorities in Maryland said.

Mario Samm, of Frederick, is being held without bond for shooting Jahandar Rahman Darvish in his home on Circle Gate Drive in Germantown on Dec. 23, the Montgomery County Police Department said.

Samm has been charged with First Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm During the Commission of a Violent Crime. He was currently being held at the Frederick County Detention Center.

Darvish had apparently been working as a rapper under the name Echalty. His Instagram page includes several photos of him holding stacks of cash.

The rapper was remembered in an outpouring of support as being sweet and caring.
