Germantown Popeyes Fire

A Popeyes restaurant at a Montgomery County strip mall was evacuated due to a grease fire early on Monday, April 1, crews said.

The fire broke out in the kitchen of the restaurant at the Cloppers Mill Shopping Center near Great Seneca Highway and Mateny Road in Germantown around 8:20 a.m., MCFRS Spokesperson Pete Piringer said.

The building was evacuated as crews doused the fire and checked for extensions into the ductwork above.

No injuries were reported.
