A ludicrously lucky Maryland Lottery player from Silver Spring has claimed a $50,000 prize after playing a $1 "Pick 5" ticket that was sold at his favorite Prince George's County convenience store.

It marks the fifth time he has claimed a five-figure prize in the past three months.

In May, the 43-year-old lotto player showed up at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore to claim a combined $200,000 "Pick 5" prize that included four winning $50,000 tickets.

His sizzling streak of luck continued when he returned to the Hyattsville Convenience Store on University Boulevard East to purchase another round of tickets this month, leading to another $50,000 windfall.

The winner said that he doesn't have any specific plans for his fifth prize, though he plans to invest at least some of it back into playing his favorite game that has made him a rich man.

His lucky convenience store is also cashing in with a bonus coming from Maryland Lottery for selling the winning $50,000 "Pick 5" ticket.
