Support Pours In For Family Of Teen Killed In Howard County Townhouse Fire: ‘Immense Tragedy’ Support is pouring in for the family of a Maryland teen who was killed in a fire earlier this week. Katie Chase, 15, died in the fire on the second story of a townhome on the 11500 block of Shell Flower Lane in Columbia around 7:30 p.m. March 20. She is survived by her loving mother, Sue; and her sister, Nicole. More than $8,500 has been raised on a GoFundMe created by loved ones to support the family following the fatal fire. Teen Killed, 2 Injured In Howard County Townhouse Fire: Police A 15-year-old girl was killed in a Maryland townhouse fire Wednesday night, while two other victims were injured, police announced. The Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services responded to the blaze on the 11500 block of Shell Flower Lane in Columbia around 7:30 p.m. March 20. Crews found heavy flames coming from the second story and brought the fire under control in about 20 minutes.
