Lifeguards Save Young Girl's Life At Community Pool In Maryland With Swift CPR Fast-acting lifeguards are being credited for saving a young girl's life after she stopped breathing at a community pool in Maryland on Monday night.  The Anne Arundel County Fire Department received a 911 call at approximately 7:30 p.m. on June 10 from the Whittier Community Pool in Severna Park, where a girl was pulled from the water by on-duty lifeguards and was not breathing. According to officials, the lifeguards immediately began providing medical care, including CPR, and were able to revive the girl before paramedics arrived. CPR Performed On Victim Pulled From Car In Frederick County Pond Firefighters rescued a driver who sent his car careening into a pond in Frederick County Tuesday, May 31, authorities said. The victim was found in his car in the retaining pond behind the CVS at 5414 Rotary Avenue in New Market around 8:45 p.m,, the Frederick County Sheriff's Office said. The Frederick County (MD) Fire & Rescue was assisted by sheriff's deputies in extricating the victim. CPR was performed before he was taken to Frederick Health Hospital in unknown condition.

Man Drowns In Potomac River After Jumping Near Woodrow Wilson Bridge: Report A 37-year-old man drowned after jumping into the Potomac River near the Woodrow Wilson Bridge on Memorial Day, Fox5 reports.  The man jumped from an anchored vessel south of the bridge around 6 p.m., the outlet said citing Maryland Natural Resources Police. The victim was thrown a life jacket but could not get it on before he went unconscious, and a Good Samaritan pulled him from the water, reports say.
