Rapist, Murderer Convicted In 40-Year-Old Laurel Cold Case: Officials Justice appears to have finally been served after a Laurel man was sentenced following the conviction of a rape and murder case that went cold over 40 years ago, authorities say. Howard Jackson Bradberry, Jr., 62, was sentenced to 25 years in prison after being convicted of the rape and murder of Laney Lee McGadney in 1982, according to multiple reports.
