MD Crews Help DC Firefighters Battle Apartment Blaze Fire departments from several counties pitched in to help the DC Fire Department battle a blaze that sent smoke throughout a large portion of the building. DC Fire and EMS first reported the fire in the 4100 block of Cathedral Avenue NW just after 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 10. Upon arrival, the department said the fire was in the walls of a the Cathedral West Condominiums. Crews got to work opening the walls and checking the extent of the fire’s spread.
