Tornado Touches Down In Maryland (Developing)
A dangerous tornado touched down in Montgomery County on Wednesday night, officials confirmed.
At approximately 7:15 p.m. on June 5, the National Weather Service advised that a tornado was located in Poolsville moving east at approximately 20 mph in the area.

It was also expected to impact Germantown, Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village, North Potomac, Boyds, and other surrounding communities.

3 Charged In Murder Of 35-Year-Old Man Whose Body Was Found In Maryland Woods: Police
Three people have been arrested and charged in the murder of a Maryland man whose body was found in the woods last month.
Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes detectives arrested Quinnton Eric Brown, 36, DeAngelo McRoy, 26, and Alicia Carson-Brown, 24, all of Gaithersburg, charging them with first-degree murder.
The arrests were made about six weeks after Delondre Levert Sawyer, 35, of Germantown, was found unresponsive in a wooded area near the 11200 block of Game Preserve Road in Gaithersburg and later pronounced dead.

Two teen brothers are heading to prison for life for the murder of a rival gang member in Maryland, authorities announced.
Malik Hney, 17, and Malachi Hney, 18, both of Kensington, were sentenced to life in prison suspend all but 30 years and five years of supervised probation upon release, the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office said Tuesday, Feb. 27.

Several Maryland cities were ranked among the US’s most culturally diverse in a new study by personal finance company WalletHub.
The study breaks down the cultural diversity of more than 500 cities using key indicators like ethnoracial diversity, linguistic diversity, and birthplace diversity, according to 2024 US Census Bureau data.

Woman Arrested For Robbery, Assault On Metro Bus In Maryland, Police Say
A woman arrested for a robbery and assault on a metro bus in Maryland fought with officers taking her into custody, police said.
Crystal McArthur, 37, is accused of assaulting a woman and stealing her phone “for no apparent reason” while riding a Metro bus near the 7600 block of Wisconsin Ave. in Gaithersburg around 9:25 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, according to Montgomery County Police.
McArthur, of Bethesda, then got off the bus and walked away toward Old Georgetown Road, while the victim was taken to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A resident in Montgomery County was able to track her stolen Toyota in Gaithersburg, leading to the arrest of a man who had been linked to a host of crime in the area.
Travis Jamal Isreal, 33, is behind bars after stealing a vehicle in Montgomery County and committing multiple burglaries, thefts, and thefts from other vehicles.
