Father Missing In Mattawoman Creek, Son Made It Safe To Shore: Officials (Developing) The search is on for a father who went missing in Mattawoman Creek when their boat sunk, according to Charles County Volunteer Fire and Emergency Medical Service personnel. An alert was issued by the agency shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, when officials say that the family's inflatable boat went down in the area.  First responders say that the Charles County Sheriff's Office has joined the search as they look for one boater whose son was able to safely make it to shore.
