The National Weather Service has released snowfall totals for the DMV in this week's storm. In Maryland, Sabillasville which appears to have gotten the most amount of snow: 8.5 inches on Tuesday, Feb. 13, the NWS said. In Virginia, Gavel Springs in Frederick County got about 4.5 inches. A Maryland police department is mourning the loss of a longtime brother in blue. Daniel Stickney Jr., who spent the last 15 years working for the Rising Sun Police Department in Maryland, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 10, according to a GoFundMe campaign for his family and his obituary. He was 49 years old. The Ridley Park, PA father, who spent 25 years working in law enforcement, was remembered by the Rising Sun PD as being "witty and kind." The National Weather Service has confirmed that the wicked weather over the weekend produced a small tornado that was reported in northern Maryland. An “EF1” tornado with winds peaking around 90 mph touched down in Cecil County just east of Rising Sun between 6:35 p.m. and 6:41 p.m. on Saturday, April 1 after forming as a result of a cluster of thunderstorms that rolled through the region. Authorities say that a Cecil County school bus driver has been charged with alleged impaired driving after crashing in Charlestown. Late in the afternoon on Thursday, Dec. 22, officials say that Rising Sun resident Susan Janet Small, 60, crashed an empty bus into a ditch near the intersection of Cecil Street and Market Street in Charlestown, according to investigators. One driver was killed and another was hurt following a Tuesday, July 19 wrong-way crash on the Route 1 bypass in East Nottingham Township, authorities confirmed. A 33-year-old Pennsylvania driver was traveling in the northbound lanes between SR472 and SR272 when a 25-year-old wrong-way driver from Maryland struck her vehicle head-on around 5:40 a.m., Pennsylvania State Police said. An accidental shed fire in Maryland caused thousands of dollars worth of damage for a Cecil County homeowner, according to the state fire marshal.
