Teen Killed, 2 Injured In Maryland Townhouse Fire: Police
A 15-year-old girl was killed in a Maryland townhouse fire Wednesday night, while two other victims were injured, police announced. The Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services responded to the blaze on the 11500 block of Shell Flower Lane in Columbia around 7:30 p.m. March 20. Crews found heavy flames coming from the second story and brought the fire under control in about 20 minutes. The holiday season got off to an unexpected and hopeful start for the family of a Maryland firefighter who died in the line of duty battling a blaze. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation announced that it will be paying the full mortgage on the home of Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services Lt. Maryland State Police troopers made a daring air rescue of an injured hunter who fell from a tree stand and suffered serious injuries in Ellicott City. Shortly after 8 a.m. on Friday, October 7, the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services called in the Maryland State Police Aviation Unit to medevac an injured hunter who fell between 20 and 30 feet from a tree stand in a heavily wooded and remote area of Cascade Falls.
