An 8-year-old boy was one of three people found unconscious when firefighters battled the blaze at the 3400 block of E. Lombard Street in Southeast Baltimore Tuesday, Feb. 27. The boy died hours after he was rescued, while a 13-year-old girl and a 22-year-old man were taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Sprinklers Help Contain Fire At MD HS; Students, Staff Evacuated Fire sprinklers came to the rescue of a Harford high school when a blaze broke out on Tuesday afternoon before dismissal. Crews from the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company were called to Joppatowne High School at approxiamtely 2 p.m. on Tuesdayay 16, where students and staff evacuated after a fire was reported, sending smoke through parts of the building. Officials said that fire sprinklers knocked down most of the flames, and responding firefighters were able to finish the job and begin ventilating the building of the smoke.
