Traffic Tied Up By Vehicle Fire On I-270 In Maryland (Photos)

Some northbound lanes of I-270 were blocked on Monday afternoon in Montgomery County while crews battled a truck fire.

At approximately 12:15 p.m. on Monday, June 10, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel were called to a stretch of the interstate near Montrose Road, where there was a truck fully engulfed in flames.

Crews were able to quickly get the fire knocked down, though some lanes remained blocked during the subsequent investigation and cleanup.

No details about the cause of the fire have been released by investigators.
