At approximately 3:30 a.m. on July 23, 2022, an officer from the department on patrol in the area heard a shots ring out in the 300 block of North Market Street, and upon arrival, they found Olaniyi, 26, suffering from a gunshot wound. Michael Isaiah Olaniyi, 26, was fatally shot in the 300 block of North Market Street around 3:30 a.m., Saturday, July 23, according to Frederick police. Family of Olaniyi say that he was wrongfully shot after "having a night out having fun with his older siblings", in a fundraiser created to help support his loved ones. Police ID Man, 26, Killed In Frederick Police in Maryland have identified the 26-year-old man who was shot and killed over the weekend in Frederick. Officers from the Frederick Police Department on patrol at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, heard a gunshot in the area of the 300 block of North Market Street, officials said. Upon arrival at the scene, police said that the officers located Montgomery Village resident Michael Isaiah Olaniyi, who had suffered a gunshot wound.
