Aspiring WNBA Player Shot, Killed Near Maryland School Was Weeks From 17th Birthday The community is rallying around the family of 16-year-old Jayda Medrano-Moore, who was killed on Monday after leaving school in Prince George's County. An aspiring WNBA player who played ball at DuVal High School, Medrano-Moore was struck by a bullet on Monday, Sept. 11, and she later died at an area hospital from her injuries.
