'Serious Assault' Leads To Murder Charge For Prince Frederick Man, Sheriff Says

A 27-year-old Maryland man has been charged with murder in Calvert County following a violent assault in Prince Frederick on Thursday night.

Thomas Eugene Harris II has been apprehended following an investigation into the death of Shaquille Quadry Braxton, 30, who died at CalvertHealth overnight, according to officials.

Both men are from Prince Frederick

Deputies from the Calvert County Sheriff's Office were called shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 15 to the area of Armory Road and Fairground Road to investigate reports of a "serious assault," where they found Braxton suffering from critical injuries.

He was rushed to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

During the investigation, Harris was identified as a suspect, and he was taken into custody without incident.

Harris was taken to the Calvert County Detention Center, where he was charged with first-degree murder and first-degree assault. Additional charges are pending.

Investigators say that the incident was isolated.
