Multiple Businesses Evacuated After "High-Pressure" Gas Leak In Baltimore County

The Baltimore County Fire Department was on scene of a "high-pressure" gas main break around 12:48 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, the department said on Twitter.

The leak was said to be close to Giant Food store in the Cherry Valley Plaza Shopping Center

The leak was at the intersection of Nicodemus Road and Reisterstown Road in Reistertown near the Giant Food store, WBAL reports. Nearby businesses were being evacuated as a result.

The Baltimore County Emergency Management office said Reisterstown Road between Hammershire Road and High Falcon Road was closed as of 2 p.m. It is unclear when the road will reopen. 

Baltimore County Fire said the leak had been capped around 2:47 p.m. Crews were still on scene conducting repairs.
