That’s how Baltimore Animal Control officers found Aggie on a bitterly cold February day in a Baltimore park.

Aggie had significant hair loss as well as lacerations and scabs all over her body. Officers also said her back legs were swollen and that Aggie couldn’t walk. Once they called the Baltimore Animal and Care Shelter (BARCS), the team immediately sprang into action to save this struggling pup.

BARCS medical team determined Aggie’s back legs were fractured after supposedly being hit by a car and that they may need to be amputated. Through all this pain, Aggie proved herself as a fighter.

“Aggie is sweet and shy in our care,” BARCS wrote on Facebook. “She loves being pet and told how beautiful she is. Though it hurts to stand, she'll try her best to get up and move towards you so you can scratch her head.”

Aggie has since been transferred to a partner rescue organization for further care, BARCS said. Now as the organization tries to figure out the best course of care for Aggie, they hope she can find a home that will meet her needs.

Given that critical medical care takes up the majority of BARCS’s budget, the organization is asking people to make donations to help support animals like Aggie. Any amount is welcome, and donations can be made online
