4 Firefighters Rescued From Sinking Fireboat Off Gibson Island (Updates) Four firefighters are recovering after being rescued from a sinking fireboat in the Chesapeake Bay, multiple sources report. The crew was conducting marine operations training when they sent out a Mayday call after noticing their boat was taking on water near Gibson Island around 3 p.m. on Monday, March 28, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.   Fire Boat Incident: All personnel have been rescued and are in good health.
