Jason Martinez, 26, of Worcester, faces charges of possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID card, driving with a suspended license, and another traffic infraction, Northbridge police said. He was being held on a $7,500 bail.
A Northbridge officer pulled over Martinez early Saturday morning, May 20, because his car didn't have an inspection sticker. As officers prepared to tow the vehicle when they found out Martinez didn't have a license, they noticed an empty holster and a loaded pistol in the center console, authorities said.
The Frankensteined firearm had a genuine Glock slide, but the lower half of the pistol was made of 3D-printed plastic, police said. The weapon did not have a serial number, which made it effectively untraceable.
