A Springfield man taken to the hospital last month with a self-inflicted gunshot wound was arrested on weapon and sexual assault charges. Louis Olmo, 22, was arrested in an apartment on Birch Park Circle in West Springfield on Thursday, May 11, authorities said. Investigators responded to the 100 block of Belmont Avenue on April 12 after they received reports of two gunshot victims, police said. Police have charged the Holyoke mother of a 16-year-old teenager caught running from police at 110 mph in West Springfield earlier this week. She was in the backseat during the chase. Kelly LeBlanc, 43, was summoned on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and contributing to the delinquency of a child, a Massachusetts State Police spokesperson said. Authorities are asking for help from the public in locating the driver of a van that crashed into a motorcycle in Connecticut and then drove away, leaving a Massachusetts man injured. A 37-year-old West Springfield man found guilty of a 2013 rape at a Hampden County nursing home will spend at least the next decade behind bars, authorities said. But his punishment won't end there.
