'Completely Avoidable' Murder: 21-Year-Old Charged With Double Shooting In Western Mass
A 21-year-old man who police say cut off his court-required ankle monitor — twice — while out on bail is now charged with a double shooting at a birthday party in Springfield last week that left a man dead. Tyre Shakespeare was arrested on Sunday, July 2, in Springfield and charged with the killing, Springfield police said. The attack happened near Ashmun and Adams streets on Thursday afternoon. Authorities ID Victim Of Early Morning Fatal Stabbing In Western Mass: Report
Authorities have identified the victim of an early morning stabbing in a Western Massachusetts city as Duane Miller, age 49, of Springfield, Western Mass News reports. Police responded to the stabbing in the 0-100 block of School Street in Springfield just after 5 a.m. on Monday, as previously reported by Daily Voice. Responding officers found Miller bleeding out and rushed him to Baystate Medical Center where he later died, according to Springfield Police. 2 Found Dead In Western Mass Home
A man and a woman were found dead inside a Western Massachusetts home after a call from a relative. The two were found in Springfield around 10:15 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 25 on Maynard Street. According to Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police, officers responded to a home on Maynard Street for immediate assistance after a relative found the man and woman dead inside the home from apparent gunshot wounds. Man Facing Charges For Involvement In Western Mass Shooting
A Western Mass man is facing numerous charges for his alleged involvement in a shooting that left one person seriously injured. Edgar Gomez-Diaz, age 36, of Springfield, was arrested on Tuesday, May 4, after an officer heard gunshots in the area of Spring and Pearl Streets and located a man who was shot on Spring Street around 12:20 p.m., said Springfield Police Spokesman Ryan Walsh.
