19 Shopping: Website Locates Hard To Find Items Near You
As stores sell out of staple items - such as toilet paper and hand soap - ahead of what could be another isolating COVID-19 winter, there’s a website that helps people locate difficult to find items in their areas. It’s called InStok. The website and accompanying app were recently developed by two University of Texas students who saw their parents struggle to find hand sanitizer and other popular items in March. Target Adding Ulta Beauty 'Shops' To 100 Stores
Ulta Beauty is partnering with Target to place shops in 100 stores across the U.S. by mid-2021. The “shop-in-shops” will be rolled out over the next 12 months or so and will include trained-Target staff ready to help customers with more in-depth makeup and beauty supply questions. The partnership comes at a time where Target is growing its personal products and beauty departments and Ulta has been recalibrating store locations - closing some and opening others. “Parking lot parties” are a COVID-19 trend that has been keeping police busy in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Now that bars and clubs are closed and normal gatherings can only have a limited number of guests, parking lot parties that skirt the law have become popular. Parent Company Of Balducci’s, Kings Food Markets Files For Bankruptcy
KB US Holdings, the parent company of Kings Food Markets and Balducci’s Food Lover’s Market, which has locations throughout the region, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The company announced this week that “it has accepted a stalking horse bid from TLI Bedrock to purchase the company for $75 million.” To facilitate the sale, KB and its subsidiaries have commenced voluntary Chapter 11 proceedings in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. 19: Employees Filed Hundreds Of Safety Complaints Against Massachusetts Employers
Massachusetts has received about 900 complaints from employees who say their workplaces are not safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The complaints were submitted through a form Governor Charlie Baker’s administration debuted May 20. As of July 7, Attorney General Maura Healey’s office had received more than 900 complaints, according to the Boston Business Journal.
