Potentially severe thunderstorms with strong wind gusts will sweep through the region on the final day of the winter season on Saturday, March 19. "The threat will stem from an area of low pressure and its associated cold front that will march eastward through the Ohio Valley and Northeast through the day Saturday and into the evening hours Saturday night," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Brandon Buckingham. Weather Whiplash: Storms With Strong Wind Gusts Will Be Followed By New Chance For Snow
A round of thunderstorms with strong wind gusts is expected during a stretch of unseasonably warm air before a dramatic drop in temperatures will lead to a new chance for snowfall. Another unseasonably warm day is expected on Monday, March 7, with the high temperature in the mid 60s, according to the National Weather Service. Major Storm Will Bring Heavy Rain, Strong Winds That Could Cause Power Outages
A post-Thanksgiving storm will hit the region with heavy rain and strong wind gusts that could cause power outages. The time frame for the storm is Monday, Nov. 30 into Tuesday, Dec. 1. The days leading up to the arrival of the system will be dry with temperatures continuing to be above normal through the weekend with daily highs ranging from the low to upper 50s. It will remain fairly cloudy on Black Friday, Nov. 27, but with no precipitation, according to the National Weather Service.
