Man Found Guilty Of Raping, Kidnapping Woman At Massachusetts Motel
A 41-year-old man has been convicted of kidnapping and raping a woman at a motel in Shrewsbury after a jury-waived trial in Worcester Superior Court.
Edward Lacey of Worcester was found guilty on Friday, March 19 of kidnapping, two counts of rape, three counts of indecent assault and battery, strangulation, threat to commit a crime, and assault and battery. He was found not guilty of assault with intent to murder.
Judge David Ricciardone presided over the four-day trial. The judge set Thursday, April 1 for sentencing.

Chance Observation Leads To Seizure Of Ak-47, Marijuana, And Six Other Firearms, Arrest
A hoard of firearms that included an AK-47 rifle and a whole lot of marijuana were seized by Shrewsbury Police during a recent arrest.
On Tuesday, Aug. 18, police were investigating another incident when they noticed an alleged hand-to-hand drug deal, police said.
This led police to Charles MacDonald, of Shrewsbury, and his Oak Street home where they found a “large amount” of marijuana, digital scales for weighing drugs, packaging equipment, $10,000, and seven firearms, police said.
