Veteran, Great-Grandfather ID'd As Victim In Fatal Western Mass Motorcycle Crash
A 75-year-old Berkshire County man was identified as the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash last week, authorities said. Al Salvatore, of Pittsfield, was riding his Harley Davidson with his friend in Lanesborough on Sunday, Sept. 1, when he collided with an SUV, the Berkshire County District Attorney's Office said. Salvatore was driving east on Route 7 onto the Route 8 connector when his bike crossed the double yellow line and into the path of an oncoming SUV, the prosecutor's office said. He died at the scene. Body Of Western Mass US Airman Returns Home; How To Take Part In Honor Procession
The body of a Berkshire County-born US Airman killed in Japan will return home on Friday, Dec. 15, and the community has planned a public funeral procession to honor his sacrifice. Staff Sgt. Jacob Galliher, age 24, of Pittsfield, died when the Osprey he was in crashed near the island of Yakushima, Japan, on Nov. 29 during a training exercise. He was one of eight American service members killed in the accident. Galliher leaves behind a wife and two sons — ages 2 and a newborn. 3 Students From Universities In Connecticut ID'd As Those Killed In Western Massachusetts Crash
Authorities have identified the three people who died following a two-car crash in Western Massachusetts. The victims were identified as Prem Kumar Reddy Goda, age 27, Pavani Gullapally, age 22, and Sai Narasimha Patamsetti, age 22, the Berkshire District Attorney's Office reports. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
