29-Year-Old With 'Gentle Loving Heart' ID'd As Man Found In Connecticut River A 29-year-old man from western Massachusetts and law clerk for the State of New Jersey has been identified as the person police pulled from the Connecticut River earlier this week.  Daniel Esrick, a Northampton native, was found Monday, Nov. 25, near the Gill side of Route 2, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said. It's unclear how long he had been in the water.  Daniel was a talented student, according to his obituary. Pittsfield Woman Killed, Motorcyclist Husband Hurt In Crash With SUV In Charlemont A 72-year-old woman was killed and her 69-year-old husband was seriously injured after they were involved in a crash with an SUV in Franklin County, authorities said.  Sheila Rombeiro, of Pittsfield, was on the back of her husband's motorcycle when it was involved in a crash on Route 2 in Charlemont on Sunday, Sept. 1, around 5 p.m., Northwestern District Attorney said. 'This Was An Avoidable Crash': Driver Admits To Fatal Charlemont Motorcycle Wreck A 39-year-old Berkshire County woman admitted to causing a 2023 crash that killed a Franklin County motorcyclist, authorities said on Tuesday, July 30.  Melissa Repka, of North Adams, pleaded guilty to motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation on Tuesday, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said. A judge sentenced her to two-and-a-half years in prison, though she will only spend nine months behind bars. The Franklin County crash, which killed a 45-year-old Shelburne Falls resident, took place around 6:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 8, along Route 2 in Shelburne, said Laurie Loisel, with the Northwestern District Attorney's Office. According to Loisel, the pedestrian, who was walking along Route 2 with a companion was pronounced dead at the scene. So Far, No Cause Found For Fatal Crash On Route 2 Police are investigating an inexplicable, fatal single-car crash on Route 2 Monday, Nov. 16. On Tuesday around 10 p.m., Massachusetts State Troopers responded to a report that a vehicle had struck an abutment of the Otter River Road Bridge along Route 2 in Templeton, police said.
