A 17-year-old boy is facing drug and firearm charges after police in Western Massachusetts said he was found in possession of a loaded handgun and a "substantial amount" of cocaine. The Pittsfield Police Department in Berkshire County received a report about a teenager who was in possession of a firearm on Monday, Sept. 19, police said. A 37-year-old man who was involved in trafficking firearms and narcotics between Connecticut and Maine has been sentenced. Lonnie Joyner, of Waterbury, was sentenced on Wednesday, May 4, to 10 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release, according to Leonard Boyle, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut. Joyner pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of firearms by a felon on June 4, 2021, Boyle said. A woman already on federal probation and a man are facing charges for allegedly randomly firing paintballs at people exercising in Western Massachusetts, authorities announced.
