55-Year-Old ID'd As Man Killed In Plainfield Crash Authorities in Hampshire County say they have identified the man who died after his car went off the road and crashed over the weekend.  John Henry Burt, 55, crashed into the woods off Grant Street near North Street in Plainfield around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said.  Firefighters had to cut him from the vehicle. Paramedics rushed him to Berkshire Medical Center, where doctors pronounced him dead.  There were no other injuries.  The cause of the crash is still being investigated.

Plainfield Man Busted Sending Sexual Messages To 'Child' On Facebook: DA A 49-year-old Plainfield man who thought he was preying on a 14-year-old girl on Facebook was, in truth, talking to an undercover officer in Berkshire County.  Jamie Wooldridge was arrested earlier this month and charged with dissemination of matter harmful to a minor and enticing a child under 16, the Berkshire County District Attorney's Office said. He had been in contact with a North Adams police officer posing as a child for more than a year before his bust. Thousands Without Power As Snow Blankets Parts Of Western Mass As much as a foot of snow has fallen in parts of Western Massachusetts on Friday, Dec. 16, with more on the way. But along with the beautiful views come traffic issues and power outages.  The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) lists more than 3,000 power outages in pockets across the state, with most reported in the west, where snow is at its heaviest.
