A 28-year-old Worcester man has been identified as the person crushed to death after a truck's trailer fell on him in Westborough, authorities said. Pablo Franciso Otano Aponte died on Wednesday, Dec. 27, when a 53-foot-long box trailer fell on him as he worked on it off of Computer Drive, the Worcester County District Attorney said. Elderly Woman Killed In 2-Alarm House Fire In Central Mass: Fire Officials
A woman died Monday, April 3, in a two-alarm blaze in Worcester County, fire officials said. Westborough firefighters found the woman dead inside the home when they arrived at the 55 Belknap Street blaze, Fire Chief Patrick Purcell told Daily Voice. Investigators believe the woman was older than 65 and lived there, but officials haven't released her identity. Purcell said the woman's daughter called 911 around 1:45 p.m. when she saw smoke coming from the house. Homeowner Escapes 2 Alarm Blaze In Westborough: Firefighters
A Westborough homeowner can thank their fire alarm for helping them escape a two-alarm blaze on Friday morning, Feb. 24. The blaze broke out just before 6:30 a.m. at 65 Adams St. near the intersection with Orchard Hill Drive, authorities said. The fire started in the living room and quickly spread. Westborough firefighters were fast to the scene, and with help from several area fire crews, they had it under control by 7:15 a.m., officials said.
