Patriots running back James White, who won three Super Bowls during his eight years in New England, announced on Thursday, Aug. 11, that he would retire.

Chad Johnson, the outspoken wide receiver who finished his career with the New England Patriots, earned nearly $50 million while in the NFL, and he's sharing the wealth. He recently left a North Carolina waitress a $1,000 tip on a $24 bill.
Johnson, better known by the nickname Ochocinco — a name he adopted for his jersey number 85 while in Cincinnati, tweeted a photo of the receipt from Stephanie's Restaurant in Greensboro, NC, this week to prove his generosity. The Patriots begin training camp next week in preparation for the 2022 NFL season, but five of their teammates won't take the field, according to reports.
Five Patriots will start training camp on the players unable to perform list. Those include center David Andrews, running back James White, safety Jabrill Peppers, and cornerback Jonathan Jones, according to ESPN. Unlike Injured Reserves, players on the PUP list can return whenever team doctors clear them to play.

Kyrie Irving is now unofficially the least of the Brooklyn Nets’ COVID-19 concerns.
With nearly a dozen players placed in the NBA’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols, the league announced that the Nets’ games on Sunday, Dec. 19 against the Denver Nuggets and Tuesday, Dec. 21 against the Washington Wizards were to be postponed.
