Man Nabbed With Weapons In Carry-On Bag At Bradley Airport: Police A man faces charges after weapons were found in his carry-on bag at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, according to authorities. Just after 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, Connecticut State Police troopers responded to the airport's TSA Security checkpoint for a report of an individual transporting a possible firearm in their carry-on luggage.  Investigating troopers identified the owner of the carry-on bag as, New London County resident Marvin Leggett, age 41, of Ledyard, and located a pellet gun, two magazines, and a folding knife in the bag, according to state police.&n…

Teen Shot Near CT High School A 16-year-old student was shot near a Connecticut high school, causing the school to go on lockdown. The incident took place in Hartford County around 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 8, near New Britain High School. According to New Britain Police Chief Christopher Chute, the teen was shot by suspects in an early 2000s light blue or light gray Nissan Altima. On Friday, Dec. 17, the State Police Bureau of Special Investigations initiated an operation to locate and apprehend Christian Velez, who had been wanted by several agencies including the FBI.  Velez is suspected of having committed over 20 armed robberies with firearms, numerous car-jackings, and several assaults across Connecticut spanning back to September, state police said.
