Western Mass Man Gets 9-10 Years For Girlfriend's 2014 KIlling: DA Frederick Pinney, the Springfield man whose case has been tied up in legal limbo for nearly a decade, found out his fate on Friday, March 10: nine to 10 years behind bars.  A jury convicted Pinney of manslaughter on Monday. Western Mass Man Awaiting Murder Trial Plotted To Kill Prosecutor, Witness, DA Says A Western Mass man being held at the Hampshire Jail while awaiting trial in connection with the 2019 slaying of his girlfriend, has been charged with allegedly plotting to kill the prosecutor and a witness in the case.
