A 35-year-old Hampden County man who was found guilty of first-degree murder earlier this month was sentenced to life in prison without parole on Tuesday, June 27, authorities said. Karl Exantus, of Springfield, was accused of shooting Alexis Martinez in a parking lot at Five Town Plaza as Martinez sat in his Jeep Compass in 2019, the Hampden County District Attorney's Office said. A Boston man was sentenced to life in prison for killing a 25-year-old man from Lawrence five years ago, the Essex County District Attorney's Office said. Jeffrey Tapia, age 28, was found guilty of the first-degree murder of Jensey Hernandez on Wednesday, June 29, the office reports. Investigators determined Tapia shot Jensey, along with his brother Javier, during an altercation outside of a house party at 234 Bailey Street in Lawrence on July 30, 2017, the office reports. NH Man Gets Life In Prison For 'Gruesome' Murder Of NJ Woman In Massachusetts
A New Hampshire man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the gruesome death of a New Jersey native in Massachusetts, Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz said. Julian Squires, 48, from Manchester, was found guilty on charges of murder and kidnapping for his role in the Nov. 3, 2015 killing of Ashley Bortner, 29, of Paulsboro, Cruz said in a release.
