CT Woman Dies From Injuries In Shooting Over Dog That Left Two Others Dead, Police Say A Connecticut woman who was shot during a dispute between neighbors over a dog that left two others dead has died from her injuries. Nikia Rankins, age 27, of Hartford, died on Friday, July 1 from injuries incurred during the incident on Sunday, June 19. Rankins was found shot when police responded to a report of gunfire at a multi-family home on Franklin Avenue and located three unresponsive victims with gunshot wounds, said Lt. 18 Casings Found On Roadway After Shots-Fired Incident In Western Mass Authorities in Western Massachusetts are looking for answers after multiple bullet casings were found on main road.  Police received several calls of automatic gunfire in Holyoke in the area of 85 Lower Westfield Road around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15, Holyoke Police said.  Upon arrival, officers found 18 spend casings on the road. No injuries or property damage was initially reported, police said. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (413)322-6900. The incident took place in Hampden County around midnight on Wednesday, Aug. 18,  in Holyoke.  Officers responded to Homestead Avenue for reported shots fired, Holyoke PD Captain Matthew Moriarty said. Man Charged In Double-Shooting Says He Acted In Self-Defense A 20-year-old man who allegedly shot two people at a birthday party said he was acting in self-defense. On Wednesday, Dec. 30, John L. Guzman-Rivera, of Worcester, was arraigned in Central District Court. Assistant District Attorney Deanna Duffy said that Guzman-Rivera admitted to shooting two people on the night of the incident, according to the Worcester Telegram and Gazette. Worcester Police Find Injured Child In A Vehicle Damaged By Gunfire Worcester Police responding to a report of shots being fired on Harding Street found a three-year-old with an injured leg in a vehicle that seemed to have been damaged by gunfire. On July 16 at around 8:30 p.m. police arrived on Harding Street and found a car with several people inside, including a three-year-old with a wounded leg. It is unclear if the child’s injury was caused by gunfire, police said. Police are investigating the incident.
