Fatal Fire: CT Man Found In Basement Following Blaze, Police Say
A man was found dead in a basement following a fire at a Connecticut home. The fire took place in Hartford County around 10 p.m., Monday, May 1 in Bristol on Steele Road. Bristol firefighters and police officers responded to the call for an active structure fire, said Bristol Police Lt. Patrick Krajewski. “As firefighters searched the home, they located an elderly male in the basement, who they removed to an awaiting ambulance where lifesaving measures were taken,” Krajewski said. Fatal Fire: Person Died Trying To Get Personal Items Out Of Flames In Cummington
One person was killed and another seriously injured in an early morning fire on Friday, April 28, in Hampshire County, authorities said. Cummington firefighters received a 911 call just after 5:30 a.m. to 9 Thayer Corner Road, where they found a two-story home completely engulfed in flames, the state fire marshal said. A preliminary investigation showed that the two occupants escaped the fire, but one went back inside to retrieve personal items and did not make it back out, officials said. Two Firefighters Hurt In Blaze That Displaced 7 In Worcester
A late-night fire in Worcester left seven people without a place to sleep and sent two firefighters to seek medical treatment. The two-alarm blaze began just after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at 4 Normal Street. When crews arrived, the fire had consumed the front of the two-story building, Worcester firefighters said. Crews got the blaze under control in 30 minutes. Two firefighters received minor injuries in the conflagration, a department spokesperson said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Community Rallies To Help People Who Lost Cars In Springfield Fire
Springfield firefighters were able to beat back a brush fire on Wednesday, April 12, before anyone was hurt, but two cars weren't so lucky. Now, the community is rallying to help raise money to replace those destroyed rides. The fire started around 250 Albany St. near Gasoline Alley. A woman died Monday, April 3, in a two-alarm blaze in Worcester County, fire officials said. Westborough firefighters found the woman dead inside the home when they arrived at the 55 Belknap Street blaze, Fire Chief Patrick Purcell told Daily Voice.
