Man Wins $500,000 CT Lottery Prize
A Connecticut man has claimed a $500,000 lottery prize.
Hartford County resident Christopher Borkowski, of Southington, won the "$500,000 Extravaganza! Second Edition" prize from a ticket purchased at RK Liquor Store, located at 64 South Center St. in Southington, Connecticut Lottery announced on Tuesday, Oct. 18.

CT Woman Charged With Animal Cruelty In Death Of Dog Left In Hot Car, Police Say
A Connecticut woman was charged with animal cruelty in the death of her dog after authorities said she left the animal inside of a hot car for hours.
Suzy Rivers, age 37, turned herself in to police on Tuesday, July 26, for the charge related to an incident that happened in Hartford County outside of the Southington Library, according to the Southington Police Department.
On Wednesday, June 29, Rivers, a resident of Cheshire in New Haven County, called police to report that her Boston terrier was not moving inside of her car, which was parked outside of the library, police said.

Discovery Of Dozens Of Animals Leads To Charges For CT Woman
A Connecticut woman was arrested for alleged animal cruelty after police say they found more than 26 animals in her home, including some clinging to life.
New Haven County resident Donna Scirocco, 59, of Hamden, turned herself in to police on a warrant for the event that took place in October, said Hamden Police Capt. Ronald Smith.
On Monday, Oct. 26, the Hamden Animal Control Division, with the assistance of animal control units from the State of Connecticut, Cheshire, East Haven, North Haven, and Southbury executed a search and seizure warrant at her residence, police said.
