Dan Cleary Died After Falling From Truck In Charlton: DA
Authorities have identified the 21-year-old man who died after he fell from a pick-up truck in Worcester County over the weekend, authorities said. Dan Cleary, of Charlton, fell from a Ford truck around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17, on Stafford Street, the Worcester County District Attorney said. He was a passenger. Paramedics rushed Cleary to UMass Medical Center, where doctors pronounced him dead. The driver of the truck called police and remained at the scene, officials said. His name was not released. Police in Worcester County say two children and a driver are alive today thanks to five good samaritans who risked their own safety to pull them from a burning car on Monday, July 10. Charlton police were called to a car crash just after 6:30 p.m. near 338 Worcester Road. When they arrived, officers learned the occupants were safe thanks to the quick action and bravery of five people who risked their lives to pull the kids and driver from the burning car. Police in Worcester County are asking for the public's help to track down a man who robbed a Charlton bank on Friday afternoon, March 31, authorities said. The man walked into the Country Bank for Savings at 37 Worcester Road just before 3 p.m. He told the teller that he had a weapon and demanded cash, Charlton police said. An apparent murder-suicide is being investigated by the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office as well as the state and local police. The community has mourned a handful of apparent murder-suicides in recent months - three of which happened in Worcester County. The crimes took place in Worcester and Gardner, as well as Somerset, Wayland, and nearby Windsor Locks, Conn. State Police K9 Kody found 80 grams of cocaine under a pile of leaves as police stopped an NYC couple from allegedly delivering coke to Central Mass. The incident unfolded on Thursday, Nov. 19, at around 1:18 p.m. on Interstate 84 in Charlton when a Massachusetts State Police Trooper attempted to pull over a dark-blue Honda Accord that was allegedly speeding and weaving in and out of traffic, police said.
