Serious Car Accident Reported On I-495 In Boxborough A serious car accident was reported on I-495 North in Boxborough just before 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, Boxborough Fire said on Twitter. Engine 64, A1, Engine 63 are on Route 495 North, North of Route 111 for a serious MVA. Medflight is enroute and the highway is closed.@BoxboroughPD — Boxborough Fire Department (@BoxboroughFire) September 9, 2022 The accident caused the entire highway to be closed, Boxborough fire said. Worcester Officers Pull Unconcious Man From Burning Car Wreck: Police Two Worcester police officers and a civilian are being called heroes after they risked their lives to save a 22-year-old man from a burning car earlier this week.  A Toyota Prius caught fire around 1 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 5, after it slid off of Southwest Cutoff, crashed into a boulder, and flipped onto its roof, the Worcester Police Department said. 2 Killed, 1 Injured In Motorcycle-Involved Crash In Bedford: Police Two people are dead following a crash between a motorcycle and car in Bedford, authorities said.  Police responded to the crash at South River Road near Commerce Park North around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3, Bedford Police Chief John J. Bryfonski said in a release. Responding officers found three people were injured as well as a damaged car and motorcycle.  The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, Bryfonski said. Woman With A 'Big Heart' ID'd As Victim Of Fatal Car Crash In Central Mass Authorities have identified a 62-year-old woman who died after being hit by a car in central Massachusetts as Debra Lavallee of Brimfield.  Lavallee was killed in a crash that happened in the area of 709 Main Street in Sturbridge around 1:20 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 26, according to Sturbridge Police. Initial investigation revealed that a car was going east on Main Street when it veered into the breakdown lane and hit Lavallee, police said. The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene. A Worcester police spokesperson did not release the boy's age or an update on his condition on Wednesday. The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with authorities, the spokesperson said. It's unclear if officials will file any charges in the crash. Police are still investigating.

2 Pedestrians Struck, Killed By Car In Western Massachusetts Two people have died after they were hit by a car in Western Massachusetts Tuesday evening, Aug. 2, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office reports. The 81-year-old man and 60-year-old woman were killed in the crash that occurred on Northampton Road (Route 10) near the Burger King in Easthampton, the office reports. Both victims lived in Easthampton. The driver of the involved vehicle, a Hadley man, stayed on scene and worked with police. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
