Police have arrested two men after a road rage incident earlier this week ended when they beat a truck driver with a hammer on I-495 in Worcester County, authorities said.
Javier Gutierrez Vargas, 23, and Juan E. Marin, 28, are charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and a single count of disorderly conduct, State Police said on Tuesday, March 26.

Just over a dozen communities in Worcester County lowered their COVID-19 incident rates since the previous week, according to the most recent state data.
On Thursday, Dec. 17, Massachusetts Public Health Department released weekly town-by-town datasets that include how many COVID-19 incidents there are per 100,000 residents - the incident rate.

Of the 122 red Massachusetts communities, 18 are in Worcester County: Athol, Auburn, Bolton, Clinton, Fitchburg, Gardner, Hubbardston, Leicester, Leominster, Mendon, Milford, Northborough, Shrewsbury, Southborough, Webster, West Boylston, Westborough, and Worcester.
