Duo Nabbed After Shooting In Region
Two men were arrested following an alleged assault and shooting in Western Massachusetts.
Hampden County residents Mario Santiago, age 31, of Chicopee, and Josiah Finlay, age 27, of Springfield, were arrested around 1:45 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 12, after police responded to a report of shots fired in Springfield.
According to Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police, when officers arrived in the 400 block of Albany Street, they located two victims.
One victim was punched. The second victim told officers that three men reportedly pointed firearms at him, Walsh said.

Suspect Nabbed In Fatal Shooting In Region
A man has been charged with the shooting death of another man in the region.
Almando Diaz, age 39, of Springfield, was arrested on Monday, Nov. 8, for the murder of Luis Ramos, age 32, also of Springfield, said the Hampden County District Attorney's Office.
Diaz was discovered dead around midnight on Wednesday, March 11, when members of the Chicopee Police Department responded to calls of possible shots fired.
A short time later, the Springfield Police Department responded to the area of Springfield Street and Cunningham Street, in Springfield, for a single-vehicle crash.

A Connecticut man faces a bigotry charge for allegedly spitting, and yelling racial slurs, over a COVID-19 mask policy at a package store.
Hartford County resident Daniel Henderson, age 57, of Stonington, was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 27.
According to Lieutenant Keith Egan, of the Stonington Police Department, Henderson had an active warrant stemming from an incident that occurred at Lefty’s Package Store in April.

Multiple People Stabbed By Western Mass Woman, Police Say
A Western Massachusetts woman was arrested after allegedly stabbing multiple people.
The incident took place on Sunday, August 1 around 12:30 a.m., in Hampden County when Holyoke Police responded to the area of Main and Appleton at the Racing Mart Convenience store.
According to Holyoke police, two officers entered the parking lot area of Racing Mart, activated their emergency lights, and announced their presence.
