MA Cities With Highest-In-Nation Covid-19 Unemployment Rates May Surprise You Several Massachusetts cities are on a nationwide list of community economies that were hardest hit by COVID-19. 24/7 Wall Street has compiled a ranking of the 35 metro areas and cities that have suffered the most job losses due to the pandemic. Worcester, Boston, Springfield, and Pittsfield all made the list. Our neighboring states fared better. There are no communities from Connecticut, Vermont, or New Hampshire on the list.
